One of the Greatest Voyages

In the text book, it states that "china undertook the largest and most impressive maritime expeditions that the world has ever seen"  this expedition was lead by the great emperor Yongle himself.  The people (like traders and sailors)  worked long hard hours and years to prepare for the departure.  there were more than three hundred ships and the ships sailed for almost thirty years. The people on the ships ranged from government officials to tailors, there were many soldiers on the ship and even physicians, a very wide verity which is odd.  Along the way they encountered Zheng who said to have a tribute system throughout the states, so the government officials took a ship back and worked on this tribute to try to figure it out. They were pampered with gifts and shock to see some of the unusual trades they received, from very unordinary places.  The end of the voyages were short,  the officials left the boats to rot in a port so that it would became extinct and never to been seen again.  Some people look at these voyages as a waste of their use of goods, but I simply see it as curiosity and exploration, without the expeditions people would not no exactly what was out there, so it was for the best.
