The Westernization of Japan

Japan had a long road on their journey to westernization, but they progressed more and more as time flew by. The specific actions of Japan transformed it more than even the most determined Ottoman efforts.
One of these was National Unity. This was an attack on the samurai and daimyo nation, for it no longer gave them a specific aura of respect, that everyone must comply to. The ability to carry a sword no longer gave you more power than anyone else. Travel and trade became a nationwide restriction, not contained by your class or social status.
The West became an icon to become familiar with. Science, technology, politics, as well as constitutional arrangements were vastly studied, as well as the western culture was adapted to be copied. Students were sent from Japan to the West to learn more about the culture, and bring back information. Japan went to great deeds so that they could westernize.
