This Isn't my Blog Entry

This isn't my blog entry I just want to know what people think the answer to this question is.

Why was the Ottoman Empire so successful? Why did the economy and culture all of a sudden become more sophisticated?

  1. The Ottoman Empire did have some rivalries, but they learned to accept one another, and therefore lived in peace. They also helped each other during war times, they all backed each other up to destroy any invading country. This made them a fearful opponent when it came to war, so they were not to be messed with, and that caused them to be really successful. This provided them with even more connections around them, and of course that is a good way of becoming a more sophisticated culture because it allows for trade to take place, and for different cultures to get great and new ideas.

Personally, I believe that almost all of the early successes that the Ottoman Empire encountered early on is due to the fact that all of their nation was united under one belief, Islam. By having them able to all believe in the same ideas, it made it much easier to make decisions regarding government and war, but their beliefs were based off of the same concept. Unlike many other nations at that time like in Europe where there were many different beliefs and various sects of those beliefs like Christianity, the Ottomans all were Muslim. In Europe, there would be rivaling ideas about politics and motives, and this would create problems within their own nation. When none of a country's attention is spent on problems within their our government and nation, then they can focus on one common goal, to spread Islam as much as possible. By having this, then there are no arguments about whether to go to war or not. By having these same beliefs, the economy would naturally grow due to increased trade routes and captured cities that would help production within the Ottoman nation. Also, no one mad at each other about ideals, culture can grow because everyone knows that the have the same basic beliefs and they already have something in common with their neighbors.
